Johan Elmander help Bolton Wanderers to take a 3-1 victory over West Ham.
The Hammers missed a golden chance score after 35 minutes when Carlton Cole saw his tame spot-kick saved by Jussi Jääskeläinen after the striker had been fouled by Grétar Steinsson.
And three minutes after the half-time Elmander flicked on Jaskelainen's goal-kick and Upson, under pressure from Kevin Davies, stooped to head the ball past Robert Green and into his own net.
Elmander scored second just after the hour mark with a fine header before Mark Noble level from a spot-kick at 79th minut and gave his team-mates hope for a point.
However, any hopes of a late comeback were wrecked when Elmander netted his second of the match with six minutes remaining to wrap up the points.
